"Our Shepherd"

Jeremiah:23:4: "And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD."

Welcome to Macedonia New Life Church website. It is our endeavor to promote the cause of Christ, and let the whole world know, that we are proud believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only are we called to be hearers of the Word, but more importantly, doers of the Word. For indeed, "The Lord has brought us, and the Lord shall lead us on." We hope you will visit us soon and become a part of our church family.

Joe LeVaughn Stevenson was born on November 24, 1960, in Crawford, Mississippi, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and later answered the Lord’s call to become a minister. Upon reaching adulthood he relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he continued in the ministry and was publicly ordained and set apart for the work of the Gospel Ministry on November 29, 1980.

In 1984, Dr. Stevenson and his family moved from St. Louis to Kansas City, Missouri. During a 6-year residence in Kansas City and pastoring at the Temple of Faith Missionary Baptist Church for the last six of those years, he conducted a full-time radio gospel ministry. He singularly innovated an unprecedented surge forward in the field of gospel music broadcasting and was instrumental in increasing airtime from six hours to twenty-two hours per day.

The divine intervention of the Holy Spirit led him to relocate with his family to Detroit, Michigan, in August 1990 in acceptance of the call to pastor the 500-member New Liberty Baptist Church. During his 16 year pastorate at New Liberty Baptist Church, God profoundly blessed the ministry to over 1,000 members.
